Served as a main dish with salad or as a side dish - this recipe is just brilliantly simple!approx. 20 minutes
2 garlic cloves
200 g HANDL TYROL Tiroler Speck PGI Ham Cubes
50 g butter
1 tsp dried marjoram
1 tbsp parsley, chopped
250 g Knödelbrot (plain croutons)
200 ml milk
2-3 tbsp cake flour
Fat for deep-frying
Strong beef stock
- Roast together the onion, garlic and Tiroler Speck PGI Ham Cubes in butter until golden brown. Stir together with salt, pepper, marjoram, and parsley and mix with the Knödelbrot (croutons).
- Mix eggs, milk and flour and leave the mixture to stand for 15 minutes.
- Heat the deep-frying fat to approx. 170 °C. Shape the mixture into small dumplings and fry until golden brown for 3-4 minutes. Allow to drain on kitchen paper.
- Distribute the dumplings in deep dishes, cover with soup using a ladle and sprinkle with chives.
Tip: The dumplings can naturally also be prepared without deep-frying. Cook the dumplings in salted water for approx. 15 minutes.
